Day 10: Wemding to Petershausen – Overcoming My Mechanical Nightmares

After yesterday’s mechanicals and my broken bike, today started with a detour to Munich to grab a hire bike as no repair shop (or anything else) is open on a Sunday in Germany. I found my new nemesis, a hire bike I’ve nicknamed ‘Rickety Rick’ or ‘Ricky’ for short and hurried back to meet Frank Dekker for lunch.
Despite the rocky start, the ride through the beautiful countryside and perfect weather lifted our spirits. Adjusting to the hire bike was challenging, but we pushed through on this steal stead several sizes to big for me but we enjoyed the stunning scenery and being back cycling together.
Arriving safely in Petershausen, we felt a great sense of accomplishment. Each day brings new trials and tribulations but also incredible rewards on our Journey to Zero.
Thank you for following and supporting us. It’s our last day tomorrow and we also have the networking ‘meet up’ in Munich (10am in the English Garden at the Tivoli Pavilion) and then the finish line to see all of our friends, colleagues and partners at Intersolar. Can’t wait!!
See you on the road.
