Today was the final leg of our incredible journey from London to Munich. Over the course of this adventure, Frank Dekker and I have cycled through diverse terrains and experienced unforgettable moments. I’m proud of what we have done and now ready for the week in Munich catching up with the Trina team and all my friends and business partners.

The Journey to Zero by the numbers:

* Distance Covered: Over 1,000 kilometers

* Calories Burnt: Approximately 40,000 calories, equivalent to about 140 burgers

* Pedal Strokes: Around half a million pedal strokes each (and we felt every single one)

* Elevation Gain: Over 5,000 plus meters climbed (the height of Everest Base Camp or 595 London Buses).

* Average Speed: Approximately 23 km/h (which was faster than last year)

* Days on the Road: 10 days

* Hours of Cycling: Roughly 55 hours in the saddle

* Countries Crossed: 5 (UK, France, Belgium, Netherlands and Germany)

* Weather Faced: From torrential rain, floods and wind to sunny skies

* 4 networking events held in London, Brussels, Frankfurt and Munich

* Punctures: 4 of the buggers (zero last year)

* Mechanical Issues: 2 major repairs, 1 bike replacement

* Landmarks Passed: London Bridge, Zero Meridian in Greenwich, Belfort Aalst UNESCO Heritage site, Dunkirk’s beaches, Flanders Fields, Atomium in Brussels, Leuven market square, Belgiums first city, Rhine Valley, European Central Bank in Frankfurt, Dinkelsbuhl Altstat, Harbury Castle, the Schwabian Alps to name a few….

Fun Facts:

* Most Challenging Day: Day 5 for cycling and Day 9, with mechanical failures (outsourced to my therapist)

* Best Scenery: Cycling along the Rhine River on Day 6 (my fav day)

* Most Calories Burnt in a Day: Over 5,000

* Cups of Coffee Consumed: Too many to count!

* 40 plus riders joined us. Some for a city ‘meet up’ and some for a day or two on the road - we love and appreciate you all.

This journey has not only tested our physical endurance but also highlighted the importance of our sustainable message - it’s clear Europe is pushing forward with its renewable energy goals - we passed so many solar and wind projects but there is so much more to be done. With the beauty of our diverse landscapes, we need to be clear on our mission for the future of our planet and with each challenge we faced, it only strengthened our resolve and commitment to our mission.

Thank you to everyone in the Journey to Zero Team who have made the challenge possible, (you know who you are) and thank you to everyone who has followed and supported us along the way. this is the second year we have cycled; We would like to make this an annual event, so if you are keen to be involved please get in touch.

Here’s to many more miles and memories ahead! Onwards to Intersolar and beyond!
