Day 6: Rheinbach to Bacharach – A Scenic River Ride and Halfway Milestone

Today's journey from Rheinbach to Bacharach was spectacular. What a difference a day makes. Today with the help of a couple of pain killers the body held up as we dropped down into the valley and cycled along the beautiful river, soaking up the stunning landscapes and views.
A highlight of the day was reaching the halfway point of our Journey to Zero in Koblenz. The amazing Marleen Dekker-Hansum was there waiting for us with a stunning picnic and bottle of fizz! Frank Dekker Christiaan van de Kolk MBA and I are so very greatful for everything Marleen has done for us on this trip. It would have been so much harder without her. This milestone filled us with a sense of accomplishment and renewed motivation.
The scenic route provided a refreshing change, and the tranquility of the river made for an unforgettable ride - this is always my favourite day of the journey. Arriving in Bacharach, we felt grateful for these incredible experiences and the progress we're making.
Tomorrow we have Joachim Rupp and Christiaan Daniels joining in the journey. We can’t wait to see them.
Thank you for following and supporting us. Onwards to Day 7 and our Frankfurt ‘meet up’. See you on the road.
