Day 4: a tough but beautiful ride from Saint-Memmie to Verdun.

Today’s route challenged us with some lumpy hills and long stretches in the saddle heading up! It was a real test of endurance, determination and team spirit.

Our destination; Verdun, carries historical meaning. It was the site of one of the longest and one of the most brutal battles of World War One; a place where resilience was pushed to its absolute limits. Riding into Verdun today was a fantastic reminder of the strength and sacrifice that shaped Europe’s history and it gave our own physical challenges of today some perspective. (I was a little grumpy up one particular hill)!!

As we continue this journey to net zero, today reinforced the importance of perseverance; whether it's on the road, in energy innovation, or in building a more sustainable future.

Onwards we ride to Munich.
